About Us
About our Churches -
St Paul’s and Union United
Methodist Churches are member churches of The Greater New
Jersey Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and
are a part of the Delaware Bay District which extends along
the lower Delaware River and across Gloucester, Salem, and
Cumberland Counties in Southwestern New Jersey.
We are in full agreement
with the vision and mission statements of the GNJAC as adopted
at the Uniting Conference August 4-6, 2000.
Vision Statement:
“We
are an Annual Conference of churches growing in discipleship
and ministry for Jesus Christ.”
Mission Statement
"The purpose of the annual
conference is to make disciples for Jesus Christ by equipping
its local churches for ministry and by providing a connection
for ministry beyond the local church; all to the glory of
God."
Worship
St Paul’s and Union make up the
Bridgeport / Centre Square Charge of the United Methodist
Church and have been a ministering in what is now Logan
Township for over 175 years.
We follow the
Methodist practice of Open Communion which is offered on the
first Sunday of each month and believe that all should
participate, without regard to age or any other restriction,
since it is a means by which all can participate in the free
grace of God.
The churches of
this Charge have long served our community and seek new ways
to meet the needs of members of our communities of all ages.
If you have not been able to worship with us for some time,
we invite you to come into our open doors and become a part of
our ministry. Help us understand and meet the needs of the
Logan Township Community.
Jesus said,
“Come unto me, all ye
that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and
lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For
my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV)
We at St Paul’s and Union United
Methodist Churches extend this same invitation to all.
And we continue the aim of our conference -
that the hurting may be healed,
that the hungry may be fed,
that the lost may be found,
that the Shalom of God may come upon the earth |
